IRS Updates FAQs for Energy Efficient Home Credits

The Internal Revenue Service has released updated frequently asked questions (FAQs) regarding energy efficient home improvement and residential clean energy property credits.

The new guidance, published in Fact Sheet 2025-01, supersedes the previous FAQs that were released in April 2024 (Fact Sheet 2024-15).

The updated FAQs include substantial changes to both:

  • Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit
  • Residential Clean Energy Property Credit
